Border Beef Ralley

For those who haven't heard, thee is going to be a big ralley here in Coutts Alberta on the 26th (saturday) to help to get the border open for our beef. And everyone is encourage to come (there is a big group coming down from Edmonton) and support our beef. They will be selling frozen ground beef for i believe a buck a pound. I will get more details as soon as i can.

P.S. Anyone planning on comming down? I'm gonna be there.

Did you know that for that price you have to buy at least 80 lbs worth of frozen Ground beef?

I go to Co-op on $1.49 day and get lean ground beef for $1.49 lb.

I know I don't have to do the math.

Where the beef industry or stores have do something is get the price of steaks & roasts down to a respectable price.
None of this $26.00 lb for eye of the round or $30.00 lb for Filet Mignon.
They don't have a problem selling these special cuts, It is the cheap stuff that isn't exported that they are selling at $0.50 less a pound.

I have found out what will be going on for the Ralley. It is on from 11 to 7, with a free barbeque, and frozen lean ground beef is avaible for $10 for 10 pounds. People are ask to come and support Canadian beef to try and get the us to open the border for canadian beef. Now we know are beef is disease free and of top quality so lets show them that the beef truely is.

We are doing our best to support Alberta Beef and open the border!...

Chris Scheetz is taking a convoy of people down to Coutts( right on the border a 8 hour drive) and attending a Beef BBQ on Saturday, July 26th. We have changed our deparute site(due to overwhelming response) Ritchie Brothers Auctions(south on Highway 2, take the first Nisku exit, left over the over pass and right at Petro Canada) at 7 am. If you want to register to come with us please call 440-6318. We need to get an estimated idea of how many people will be joining us. Thanks for your support of the Alberta Beef Industry.

Man, that convoy of people today was about 6km long. I sat on top of my dads truck and watched everyone come for about an hour. There was more people here then I thought there could ever be in Coutts. Anyway i think that the ralley was a success (although i was only there for a couple hours in the afternoon) from what i saw. What made it better was that the US border patrol were watching from the states (the ralley was held at the rodeo gounds which is only a couple feet from the border. Thanks to all that came out and supported the cause.

I should have went, cause I had to do some hay baling, but Saturday night a hail storm came an turned 200 acres of hay to $*&% now I'm baling sticks, oh well!
Personally I think it helped a bit, but its all politics now, I;ve heard that the BSE cow found in N. Alberta was a plant! and my brother was in the states and they have..... I'd better quit now.
Cause we do have a lot of Americans that read this too.

Only if everyone everywhere would read the whole story and not what CNN tells them.
