changed timing tensioners, got codes p0021 and p0303.

Hey guys. Ever since I got my 05 scab 5.4 with 68kmiles back in october I read these forums for all my help that I have need. I had slack in my timing chain driver side and knew it had to be tensioners or guides or both. Was one bad tensioner. I replaced both. Guides had no wear nore on inside timeing case so I left those alone. I put it all back together and did not mess with timing or anything in that manner. Just put new tensioners. Well truck started up but running rough. Light came on after couple miles. Went to auto zone said was p0021 and p0303. Checked cop on #3 , not it. Changed svt solenoid on bank 2. Seems a lil better but still rought. Going to test injectors and plug today on #3. Any body have any suggestions? Thank you

But same p0021 but now also p0012. So advance retard on both. Like I said before I never took timeing chains of or messed with any of thst. Just replaced tensioners. Please help

Did you tie the chains down with a zip-tie or something like that so they won't jump time? Taking off a tensioner without securing the chain will allow it to move. It's prob out of time by a tooth or 2.

with a friend who held the chains while I installed ne tensioners. It might of been that but I am almost sure I did not let the chains move at all. But I could be wrong.

Well just took it to mustang speed. A proformance shop that does the lockouts. So he is checking everything and installing the lockouts since he is in there and checking everything else for wear. For the most part the engine was pretty clean. Oil change with mobile 1 synthetic and always wix filters or mobile filter. I'll post when I get the truck back today
