Question Question about 1956 F100 Transmission Rebuild

I am in the process of replacing transmission in 1956 F100 Truck. I installed a Fordomatic transmission from 1956 Ford car. I would like to install an automatic floor shifter, but am having problems locating one that will fit. I have been told that one from a 1955-1957 T-bird will work. Any ideas on solutions or where I might be able to find an automatic shifter that will work.
