1988 Ranger won't start
My 1988 Ranger with fuel injected 2.3 and 5 speed won't start.
Was running fine when I took it to work. Would not start when I went to go home 9 hrs later. Cranks over just fine, but won't fire up. Had to tow it home. Didn't have any spark from the coil, so I replaced that. Still no spark. Ran a 12 volt tester light from ground to the red input line on the coil. Lights brightly, so it appears I have power to the new coil. I'm stumped. Can anyone help?

I have an 88' 2.3L that didn't want to start at one time. As a matter of fact it died while sitting at a stop light, and would NOT fire. I had to push the POS ~5 blocks down the street to my house. :
After a week of 2 of trouble shooting it turned out to be the plug under the coil where one of the wires had separated from it's connection. It didn't matter that I had good battery, good coil, good plugs, etc.... when the power wasn't even getting to them.
If you haven't done so, make sure you check the inertia switch for proper operation and connection.
