Clunking Brakes????

Mine does it at take off, I figured it's either ball joints or radius arm bushings.

Clunking Brakes????

Solution found- took it back to Bucky's and made them put new broke pads on the fronts again. So far its been 2 weeks and no clunk.

Clunking Brakes????

I did have a clunk in my front brakes after purchasing my truck for a guy. It seems that someone put the brake pads in without the anti-rattle clip. I bought a kit when I did my brakes and in contained the clips and new pins. My brakes are quiet now and I much happier. It was actually embarrassing it would be so loud at times.

Clunking Brakes????

Man I hate to be at the mercy of those garages. Those pins only cost $4.00 for two pins at Discount Auto. They should have put new ones in to start with when they did the brakes.

I got to raise my rates for fixing computers.

Clunking Brakes????

The front brakes on my 1989 F250 HD used to rattle and clunk, expecially in the Winter. Also, braking had a pulsing that suggested a warped disk rotor.

The problem turned out to be worn out brake caliper PINS. New pins cured the problem. The pins and grooves need to be properly lubricated to allow free self adjusting action.

Hey mjb1962, my outer pads rattle bad. What do you mean by "crush" the tabs? Thanks
