97 F150 Electrical Issues?

Hey there, I recently bought my truck a couple months ago and within the last week or so it's been backfiring little pops randomly when I'm coming to a stop, about 1/3 of the time I'd get a single pop when stopping.

Today I was driving with my A/C on and all of the sudden I notice my fuel gauge was below E and I was like "**** am I losing fuel?" and noticed my temperature, oil, and battery gauge were dead too. Not my Speedometer or RPM meter though. So I turn off my A/C, gauges pop right on. I then go to roll the windows down and they didn't move at all, didn't even hear it try. Then my blinkers didn't work, making me wondering if even my brake lights work?

So I get to where I'm going and I reverse in incase I will need a jump (just figured maybe alternator or battery?) Dead battery, but when I get a jump it starts right up, yet I notice I can roll the windows up and down, but very slowly, and the A/C on the highest setting is as weak as the low setting.

Then on the way home I notice when I hit my brake my whole dash dies, no speedometer, rpm, fuel, etc. When I get to my house I'm debating on reversing in my driveway so I can get a jump easy, but I worry it'll stall out. It did still as soon as I came to a complete stop and put it into reverse. I gave it a jump and reversed it, gauges worked, but windows didn't again.

Any idea? just electrical like sensors or shorts? or can it be bad plugs?

Your battery is probably dying, probably because the alternator isn't charging it.

Check those first. If you don't have a solid, stable electrical system, nothing else will work right.
