Recently purchased an 04 without a key

So, I recently purchased an 04 XL that was a repo, so it didn't come with any keys. I did a search an most turned into "well you can reprogram blah blah blah"

This doesn't have a key - any ideas what the best way to get a new key cut for this thing? I don't mind paying the dealer, but I would like to know a ball park figure of what it'd cost before hand, or if there is a better option.

Thanks in advance.

alot of locksmiths have the ability to program them nowadays and are generally cheaper than the dealer...something to think about.

just do a google search for a locksmith in your area.

My dealer just cut a new key using the VIN (free), but charged $65 to program one. Once you have two programmed keys you make & program more yourself.

Go to a locksmith. A dealer may not be able to get the key code for your truck as we can only get key codes back 10 years. Plus you will have to fill out all kinds of paperwork.
