question on tuning ts 6 position chip

Hello everybody,

I am installing stage 1 injectors in my 1999 f360 today and had a question about my tuner.

Currently I run a ts 6 position chip, with s&b intake, Garrett turbo, and 6 inch mbrp exhaust with stock injectors. Once I install the stage 1 injectors should I have the ts chip re burned with a custom tune?

Thanks in advance for the help

A bit of clarification on terms. A tuner is not a chip. The biggest difference is how they connect to the truck and if they physically have to stay connected to the truck or not.

I would get it re-burned. There is no way that the programming on the chip is going to know to compensate for those injectors and depending on how much you extra fuel you want to add or take away depending on what tune you want, also depends on the specific injector company. For instances, I had injectors on my old 6.0 and company A's injectors you might be able to pull out a little more fuel without hurting you injectors for a tow tune (I haul horses a lot, so the less aggressive get up and go, the better) with the injectors, but if you try to pull that same out of company B's injectors, you very well could damage them.

Very hard for the "stock" programming of your chip to compensate for all of that. Now, granted my heavy moding days were during the years of the 6.0 and we also didn't have chips, the closest relative we had to those were Modules, but tuners were far better especially for the 6.0s then those.
