Serpantine Belt question

I changed the serpantine belt in the V10 in preparation for our trip from OK to CA this coming week. I also change the tensioner as well as the idler pulley. The only issue I've noticed was a small peice of thred from the front part of the belt and maybe some small chips in the front. The old belt also had some small chips in the front. When I look at the pulleys the belt is on the front part of the power steering pump as well as the crank pulley. It looks like there may be some room for an extra rib on a belt.

Anybody concerned? I've driven it for about a week and a half without any issues or squeaks. Thanks in advanced.

Why not show it to a nearby service provider to get an expert opinion? They should give that for free without a charge.

The man suggested an expert opinion. Someone who gets paid to be a mechanic and your someone who takes pictures.

Unless your post was meant to be funny. if it was, you need to put some smiley things there so we know.

I do get paid to repair things, no one cAn know everything all the time, always a new way to do stuff. But if I remember correct the p.s. Pump is in line with the crank with no accessories in between, could be getting worn and kicking things off track. Other than checking that pump closely for play I would run it. You could puna light coat of paint on the pulleys and see if it scuffs off one before the the others to help see what could be kicking it off.

The fact that there was a hanging thread means nothing. All new parts aren't always made perfectly and just because there are x amount of grooves on the pulleys doesn't mean every one has to be accounted for. Don't let it wreck your trip. Also, I carry my old belt with me and a 1/2" breaker bar.
(All free info.....been givin' it out for years........lol)
