You sure you're not thinking of 2003 ^ Crown Vic (aka Panther platform)?

Ford Panther platform - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

You need to look at the CV. Then if the Lincoln has the same suspension cradle it'll work. Don't forget some of the Lincoln's have Front Wheel Drive, it's not a NOGO but not something anyone other than a frame specialist would want to take on.

Good Luck!

Thanks for responses guys very helpful so far. I used to own a lincoln Ls (loved that car!!) and I know for sure it was rear wheel drive and rode beautifully. Ya I guess crown Vic is probably lot easy to get your hands on then a lincoln I do remember the ls having a nice front suspension with almost all aluminum parts. I'll do some more research on the crown Vic aswell.
If anyone has any other ideas or thoughts plz share I hope to also be putting a mustang 5.0 in it.

Other IFS that have been used: Jag; Lexus. Biggest issue with CV is it requires use of strongly pos offset wheel to get tire under fender which severely limits wheel/spare selection.

2002 back requires clipping the frame, but it narrow enough for dished wheels.I have a 2002 clip on my 54

ok so the 03 and newer is much better. easier install. is their lots of performance parts out there for the 4.6 crown vic engines? easy to get? i have always been a 5.0 stang lover but if i were to put a vic front suspension in then it makes sense to to use the engine as well cuz i would try just find a wrecked car then i would have everything i would need. crown vic rear end a good choice aswell?

The 03 up is easier to install,

but it is too wide

,IMO,must run high offset wheels (flat wheel like a FWD) the crown vic rear too wide ,an explorer rear is a better choice.

If you are considering the 4.6 CV swap, you might look through Project-55 thread. I think that is what he did. It is a great thread with a lot of custom mods. Swapping in a computer controlled mod motor isn't for the faint of heart though. Not saying it can't be done, but there are a lot more things involved than an old school small block with a C4.

The 4.6 in the Vic is the same as the 4.6 used in the Mustang for years (2v), so yes, there are a ton of go fast goodies for them.

The Lincoln LS is built on a Jaguar chassis...nice ride/handling but hold onto your wallet when it comes to buying repair parts. The wife had one for years and loved it...of course she did, she just drove it and handed it off to me when it broke! Case in point, lower ball joints went out, no big deal just pop in some replacements, align it and be on our way. Frontend shop called and said that the ball joints were part of the spindle assembly and had to be replaced at that level....$500+ each just for the spindle! That IFS uses McPherson struts as well, not the best design for our trucks.

Ok thanks guys. Good to know. I think the CV is the way to go. And as for putting a new engine with computer and everything goes my dad will be helping me with the build and has done it before so we should be able to figure it out. Thanks for the other thread mentions I will def check that out.
