6 cylinder throttle help

Well, was making some great progress and then a several setbacks. This 1948 F5 now has a 1950 6 cylinder in it. On setback was the V8 accelerator bracket on the firewall had to be modified and I snapped it in half. I will come up some Mcgiver/hillbilly welding job to try to make it work but was wondering if any of your switched to a cable, and how that cable would actually work. The single carb Holley throttle moves toward the front of the engine instead of the back. Anyway, I am stuck and need help.

Thanks.
