Whooo!!
Aiight, so, came up in the BS thread that we might start doing some club shootin', as I have some family land in Caswell County we can use.
My best bets are Saturdays, so I'm thinking July 19? Who is interested? I have a bunch of random, fun shhii.....Stuff.....To shoot at, including but not limited to bowling pins, a safe, terra cotta, etc, etc. Within 25 yards we can have a couple people shooting at one time, anything further out than that will be one person at a time and very carefully laid out and performed. Got a little grill a few miles down the road that's pretty good eatin' too.

So Hopefully we can all get together on the 26th. And besides having a safe and great time, I propose a few wagers.
Some suggestions; (please add more)
*Sling shot - Closest to center with a wrist rocket at 25yds (i'll bring the wrist rocket or bring yours too)
*Shotgun - Closest to center with a 12ga slug at 60yards. Freestanding, no visual aids
*Pistol - Fastest magazine dump while keeping all shots within a paper plate at 20 yds (number of loads determined by person with smallest magazine)(for instance I have a pistol that holds 15 but if someone only has a 10 rd mag then we all dump 10 rounds)
*Rifle - Fastest magazine dump while keeping all shots within a paper plate at 60yds (same as above)
*Crossbow pistol - Closest to center at 30yrds (i'll bring the crossbow pistol or bring yours too)
I have a bunch more ideas but yall add some too. Maybe if we get about five good ones that we all agree on that should be enough.
Should winner get prizes or is the ability to say nanny nanny boo boo to the losers enough.

It would be pretty sweet if we could have some kind of forum badge or something. That would be awesome lol
Maybe we could all pitch, those who plan to attend, and get a challenge coin or a poker chip made up for each "Event" and just pass it along as the winners change?
I'm good basically any number of rounds in the pistol, I have magazines up to 25 rounds. and of course we could also throw in some other simple challenges as in magazine changes and such.

Over the 4th we're planning on re configuring our hunting land down east. We have three ladder stands, two strap stands with sticks and a tripod. There's too many bears to put small feeders so we rely on the nearby fields having crops and dumping bait and mineral licks on the ground around the stands. It's really thick down there and full of ticks and snakes this time of year. We'll make a basic plan then drag everything into the woods on a trailer with fourwheelers. Then walk the stands into the woods from the old logging road and set them up. Probably two solid days of work including cutting some shooting lanes around the new spots.

We're just waiting for our vacation to start. We're leaving the 6th of July, and coming home the 13. A full week in Gatlinburg Tenn.
I'm staying hopeful that I'm able to get Ka'Bluey (my truck I sold to help pay for the move) back in my possession this fall/winter. Then I'll have something to tinker around with.

mounted a light to my AR and 870 last night, i'll have to see about posting the pictures later this evening. I've got my Surefire G2L on the AR and a SolarForce L2 with a off-brand XM-L2 LED drop in. It's supposedly 1220 lumens, but we shall see once I get a little better voltage in it. running a single rechargeable 18650 in it right now and it's probably only throwing about 50 lumens, which isn't bad for a house sweeper. Once I get a couple 16340 batteries, it should produce it's max output, at which point it will go on the AR and the G2L will go on the 870

Nothing fancy at all for me
My ol' Hipoint 45, that truthfully, I haven't been able to make it fail me, not bad for a used $120 pistol. A snub nosed 38 special, that I took everywhere on our vacation, and my yet to be fired, Witness 9mm. And an older model #60 .22LR, if I can find some rounds.

I have had a hi point 45 and 9mm, and two of the 9mm carbines. Not pretty, not fancy, but they shoot well. Sometimes picky on ammo, sometimes need a little tweaking. customer service is absolutely amazing. Also, the handguns are near impossible to stop, check out iraqveteran8888's 4-part video session on trying to destroy one.

I've seen those videos. I did a lot of checking before I bought the 45. Yes they have the best customer service. Though I've not used them, the reviews are great.
And yes they can be picky on ammo type, as far as feeding/ejecting. Our model #60 (Marlin) is worse, nothing other than Remington will run through it.
