I didn't see any broken bolts, but I'm sure there will be once removed.

Any tricks or comments on doing this job at home?

 

I have had some luck with tapping them with a hammer. But hit them square on the head. It seems to help jar the rust loose. Good luck. I hate manifold bolts they can be such a pain.

 

ive done them with a lift, and if you remove the starter, and take out the motor mount bolt and with a block of wood jack the motor up just a little to roll it, it will give you plenty of room to slide it out towards the back of the truck....it might be a horrible pain on the ground but im sure it could be done

 

OK, I finally tore into the Pass side manifold. None of the bolts were broken, all the nuts came off with heat. I was ablet to get the manifold out without pulling the starter. The manifold was cracked.

I'm doing this on the ground and so far so good.

I need to change out the studs and start reassembly.

 

THE STUDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I broke the last one in the front bottom, it was ruff but I won the battle and the job is done!
