Yeah. I think I paid about $700 for mine. That was 5 or 6 (or more) years ago I think.......... He then had a price increase....

292 + E4OD (before I painted it black....I almost think I liked silver better!)

Yes, that's a parking brake on the end of the trans.

Knowing what I know now, I would still do it. and if I Still had my 57 Ford Fairlane 500, (292+Fordo) I would absolutely put an AOD(E) in it and use a Baumann Controller Baumann Electronic Controls over a mechanical AOD

A 292 with an AODE would REALLY run nice in OD with a locking torque convertor.
  • First: 2.400:1
  • Second: 1.467:1
  • Third: 1.00:1
  • Overdrive: 0.667:1
  • Reverse: 2.00:1
Cheers,

Rick

I did drive it before I took it apart a few years ago.

I didn't work on it for several years but am now getting back to it! I still have to finish mounting the trans rear mount. Once that's done the frame is off to the blaster to get blasted, primed and painted!
