Decision 2014 or wait for the 2015

I find myself trying to decide if I want to buy a 2014 F150 or wait for the 2015's to come out? I've talked to the local dealers and they said they don't even have any specs out on the 2015's yet and the trucks probably won't be arriving until December of this year. I like the current style, looking at the Lariat SCREW with the EB motor. I looked at the 2015 at the Phila PA car show, I thought it was a good looking truck, but not sure I want to chance the problems with an all newly designed vehicle.

What do you other truck buyers think? Looking for opinions.

Thanks.

I personally plan to buy about this time next year...but am hoping for a leftover '14 and maybe a slightly better deal. Upgrading to a 4WD...so gotta use every trick I can to get a better price.

If you're anything like me you'll get the itch any time you see a newer generation truck on the road. I'd hold out for the 2015 model, they should be a big improvement.

Personally, I'd wait. One reason is right now, or when the '15' start hitting the lots, you'll be able to get a real good deal on a 14, I can't see them dropping the price for a while on the 15's
Reason 2, there are soo many changes to the truck, I know they've "torture tested" the vehicles, but I'm real sceptical that the new trucks won't have a period where problems arise, probably nothing more than an incovenience but... also along those lines, repair work will be spotty for awhile at least on the bodies, the dealerships that have body shops now, will all eventually be able to do the aluminum repairs, but they have to upgrade their shops, equipment and retrain the technicians. No, If I go with a F150, I'll get a '14, In a few years, maybe trade up to the new generation, but for now I'll sit back and observe!

Partially the reason I'm looking at a SD, at least I can "appease" myself.... I'm just sceptical (unjustly I'm sure) about any new series.

Probably won't be any issues, I have just WONDERFUL luck though. You never know, I have a history with spontaneous purchases to the extreme aggrivation of the "warden"! I may end up with the 1st 15 f150 that rolls onto the lot...

I'm thinking that I wouldn't upgrade to the next gen truck till the 10 speed trans comes to market. I'm pretty intrigued by the 2.7L EB.

The 2.7L EB, while not for me, is definetly poised to take on the Ram Diesel and, although I haven't seen any numbers, the Cummins that will be in the Titan. But, being in the new Ford platform, I think it will dominate the segment.

If I wanted an Ecoboost then I'd wait. The 2.7 is a iron block with better rods and with a lighter truck, turbocharge fueling more consistent. Love or hate Ford, their engineers really try to improve each generation.

I'm a believer that the aluminum will be a great success for Ford, however, I wouldn't want to buy one in the first model year. I'm funny like that.
