Lowering a 67-72 Bump

I've been doing a little reading.

up front:
AIM/DJM lowering beams
Crown Vic IFS
Mustang II IFS (Fatman?)

back
Flip kit
IFS (Mark VIII I think?)

-----
Garage is used by my wife. She doesn't like her car 190 degrees in the summer (go figgure). So I have limited time to swap.
Never welded with anything stronger than JB Weld.
Limited tools, but willing to buy

Any opinions on the the different ways to get a little lower.

Yes. But I have my eye on a 70 SWB F100 that isn't already lowered. My F250 is flip kit and drop beam lowered by the PO.

I would avoid the Crown Vic as it will fail when cyclic metal fatigue catches up to the magic number. Flexing ladder frames and aluminum do not mix. It is just a matter of when not if.

The new 65 66 Dakota kit from Steve may fit a later 67 F100 it would have to be scoped out on a frame. The F250 frames are about 1 inch taller.

If you want a 8.8 IRS with a locker with disc brakes i have one in the back yard.

Hmm... let me get back to you on Monday. I am looking at it this weekend.

The F250 is most likely sold to a buddy at work. So single truck parking at my house.

what's the install of the 8.8 IRS take? I've never talked to anyone that's done one.

Search the 48-56 F100 section. There are several people there that are doing the IRS swap with pictures. This way you can see a finished install. I believe that the 53-56 frames are the same width but someone will correct me if I am wrong.
I'm putting a Jag IRS in my son's truck right now but it would install different than Garbz T-bird IRS. I assume that it is a T-bird.
I have the forward tilting hood kits almost ready for the 67-72 Ford trucks if you want something different on your truck. I need to get the first one out there so people can see it.

A cheap way to lower the rear end is to do the front spring hanger flip. Drill out the rivets and turn the front spring hanger upside down and it will lower the truck about 4-5 inches. You will need to put about 12 degrees of shim in the rear end to bring the pinion angle back to where it was. Check it before you start on that so you know where to put it back to.

Kevin, it will be a while on the crew cab needing one.... But i could use one for the 63!

The IFS can be mounted with aftermarket brackets. or brackets fabricated.
