Question How many miles can you put on a Trans Connect?

Wondering how many miles can you put on a Trans Connect before taking it to the junk yard? I've have not seen very many with alot of miles on them, like over 100,000.

I will let you know. Mine is only 2 years old and has 60,000 miles on it hauling irrigation service materials. SO far just oil changes, an air filter and get those crappy factory tires off.

104,000 on my 10. Other than wheel bearings too many times, no real issues. I am looking at the new style now.

130K with a hiccup

Going over Donner Pass the wrench light went on. No fourth gear no reverse and $3400 later I have a new transmission with a three-year unlimited warranty.
Didn't hesitate to fix it because I love the design of the old model over the new.

The Generation 2 is much more "Americanized" as in comfort and accessories. You lose cargo space vertically but gain it horizontally so it's kind of a wash. About 6K miles on it now and I love it!

Traded the 10 at about 110,000. No real issues !!!!

Got the 14, about 2,000 miles on it so far. Ride is a lot better but I don't feel near as comfortable with a full (read that as overload) load.

I think it depends on the Year and Engine.

Here in Germany you find quite a few Connect's with more than 250.000mls on them.

Most of them have the 1.8 DuraTorq Commonrail Diesel, which still is based on it's predecessor Block (1.8 Lynx/Endura).

I drive a 2001 Ford Escort Express, the Connect's predecessor.
Technically the Powertrain is very similar, it has the 1.8 Endura DE Engine, which has an IDI Design. These Engines are known for mileages 250.000+, nearly bulletproof.

For those of you who don't know the Express Van:
