1960 F100 restoration

Time to retire and work on my stock Fleetside 1960 F100 w/292 and manual 3 spd transmission. This truck has the large wrap around rear window. I'm trying to decide whether to leave it stock or go resto mod with a 351 Cleveland and auto transmission. I have the motor but no trans. Looking for suggestions and places to get parts. Thanks

With a 351 Cleveland you can get a trans from 250,300 289,302 or 351 Windsor. There is the c6 or c4 in the 80's Ford changed the balance of the flywheel on the 302 from 28 oz to 50 oz.A Cleveland would need a 28 oz. flywheel.Other thing is Ford used a 157 tooth and 161 tooth flywheel you can buy them new I believe Summit sells them.I put a 351w in a 56 Fairlane used 1977 302 F150 motor mounts and it bolted down to the frame on the Fairlane.

Where you at in Ohio?See if ther is a pull a part by you the one on West 130th street in Cleveland has lots of vans easy to drop them out. That would be a C6 for the most part.

Thanks for the info. I've got a good idea where the you pull it is. Im in Port Clinton. I have to check the numbers on the 351. I was informed by a friend that the 351 was a Windsor. I don't mean to vacillate but the 292 runs strong and the truck has 67k. Minimal rust. Maybe I would be better off keeping it stock. It would make a bad *** truck with C6 behind the 351. Thanks again guys. by the way, how do I join the Ohio Chapter?
