Question about a title

How is it possible for the VIN, f10C0K21020, to be on a title with a year of 1959? Doesn't the fifth character, 0, denote a 1960 F100? I have seen the title and it puzzles me how this could happen. Any thoughts? Jim

not sure where mix up may be, but 5th digit 0 should be 1960. don't know, but maybe because of the time of year it was produced or sold?? sure someone will be by with better info for you.

Mine is the same on a California registration and title. if the truck was built and sold in 59 even though it's a 60 model it gets registered as a 59..

New York state has messed up titles before, just people doing it! Then when you point it out to them and try to get it fixed you have to pay for them to issue a corrected one! You gotta love it!

DMV's in most states require that no matter what year the vehicle was manufactured in, that it has to be registered as the year that it was sold in.
