Have a '77 F 150, 460 non-catalyst, CA emissions, no A/C, A/T. The PO rigged a lot on this truck and somehow got the truck smogged when I bought it. Anyway, I have fixed the majority of things he rigged, but I need a vacuum hose diagram to figure that aspect out.

I have searched extensively on FTE trying to find the diagram for my specific instance. Fasthauler tried to help but the diagram he has does not have all the hoses my truck has. His diagram is the one I found posted on the web from Mitchell on Demand.

Does anyone have this elusive diagram or can direct me where to find one?

 

I have a 79 f250 cal smog, my vacuum lines seem to be in order. I may or may not be of help.

Thinking about going to the public library and see what they have. Looked online and they have a few different choices of Motors Manuals listed in their catalog.

 

If you still have the cal sticker on the valve cover that would really help. If you do post the number and I may be able to come up with the correct diagram for you.

 

Not much left of the sticker. On the top Looks like a "K" followed by 488BA.

 

The next time I am in town I will stop at the shop I used to work at and see if I can find what your looking for. Mitchel Manuals is a very good source for this information.

Went to the Riverside Public Library yesterday. They have a large collection of Mitchell, Motors, and Chilton professional repair manuals. I found the vacuum schematic for my truck.

However, after studying the schematic, I notice that the "green" (color as designated in the schematic from the Motors manual) hose that is supposed to run from the top of the vacuum amplifier to the venturi port on the back left of the carburetor runs to manifold vacuum instead. In its place is a hard line that is paired with the hard line for heating the automatic choke. It looks factory to me. Any ideas on this set up?

 

Where is NumberDummy? I'm sure he would know and have a diagram....

 

Could you post a picture or two? Is this truck using the hard plastic lines? The color coding should match to the lines. Or the rubber lines would have a colored strip on them.

 

Tried to post a pic, but wants a URL. Have the pics on my computer. The truck does not have the hard plastic lines and the rubber lines do not have the tracer colors on them.

 

I had the same problem with pictures here. I had to start a photo bucket account and just post a link to that.
