72 Ranchero Sport flight bench seat
Hi everyone. I have just joined up to FTE and am looking forward to some great interaction and information.
I have a 1972 Ranchero GT that has a standard bench seat. I like the idea of the bench seat, my wife next to me while driving - just like when I was 17 but not with the wife!(in Australia you can only get your licence when you turn 17), but the problem is that because the seat is vinyl, when I go around corners I tend to slide on the seat. There is no bolstering on the seat to hold me into position. I was wondering whether anyone has a Ranchero with the "flight bench seat" and whether the arm rest kept them in place. I don't want to change out the bench for buckets, but the only other alternative may be to buy a split bench seat and then have the upholsterer set up the driver's section of the seat, as if it was a bucket. Any ideas?
Thanks, Michael
