Raptor vs Ecoboost

A lot of people dont like the ecoboost for one reason or another (usually b/c its a v6). I am a fan of the ecoboost and have seen them perform over the past 2 years. I've also been reading about the ecoboost being faster than the 6.2 in the 1/4 mile and 0-60. Although, unfortunantly I havent been able to personally see the raptor do its thing. Just wondering people's opinions or if anyone has seen both over some time, maybe some side by side comparison. also on a side note, got a friend thinking about tuning the ecoboost. I vote no to stay on the safe side but he is saying that it holds up just fine. Maybe tuned ecoboost vs raptor? Maybe too much to talk about in one thread...

I currently own a 2013 SVT raptor, and my previous truck was a 2012 F150 platinum ecoboost...

As far as the engine comparison goes it's a tough one.. but ultimately i would rather have the ecoboost, no brainer to me.

1) it picks up much faster, and it's powerband feels a lot nicer than the raptor. 2) miles per gallon are much better than the 6.2L

I don't know.. the ecoboost just felt quicker, but the one thing I do love about the 6.2L is when you go WOT you get rocked back to your seats and the engine just roars.. it's a 6.2L v8.. I think it could have been built better, but i think it just comes down to personal opinion.. they are two completely different beasts.

If you plan on putting a tune on them, the ecoboost > than the 6.2 any day, you have much more playing room

Well, I currently own a 2012 Raptor SVT 6.2 My previous truck was a 2012 F-150 Lariat Ecoboost. I only owned it a month and traded it back in for the Raptor. I know the Eco is a good motor, but i found it totally boring to drive. To me it did not seem fast. The 6.2 feels faster, is it .... not really sure. I think if the Ecoboost truck was lifted and rolling on 35's like the Raptor the 6.2 might have a little edge. As for the mileage my Raptor is averaging about 2 miles per gallon less than the Ecoboost. Both are good motors, think it boils down to personal preference.

Speaking of lifting, what trim like sits the tallest?
I would go for a Platinum if no Raptor.

I think all trim levels sit the same height. The different tire sizes might change height slightly. My 04 had a 2 1/2 inch level kit in the front and 1 1/2 add a leaf in the rear, rolling on 33 inch tires. I would say the height of it was about the same as the Raptor.
