Decent Differential Shops in OKC Metro Area

Hey All,

I'm looking for a differential shop to install my gears and Trac-lok unit. I would do it all myself, but I don't have the necessary tools to do so and it would cost as much for me to buy them as it would to pay for the install. To be a little more specific, I'm swapping from 2.73s to 3.55s and adding the Trac-lok unit. My current rear end has nothing wrong with it (that I know of), so there shouldn't be any surprises.

So, with this in mind, are there any good differential shops in the OKC Metro area that don't charge an arm and a leg? Blumenthal's is a great shop, but very spendy. I've contacted a place between Norman and Tecumseh that wants $300 for an entire rebuild, I supply the parts, and they supply the labor and 2 year, 24,000 mile warranty. I also spoke with Gary's Differential and he quoted the same price with no warranty and I supply all the parts.

Are there any other shops or folks in the area that you guys would recommend?

Thank you,

Aaron

If you don't find what you are looking for there maybe the guy that's done mine would do it. I realize its a hike up here, but maybe you could work it in with another reason to come to T-town.

I thought about asking you about your guy, Gary. I hope it doesn't come down to that as it is quite a drive, but distances haven't stopped me before, especially if something can be done the same day.

He doesn't work that fast. In fact, he works at nights and on weekends as he has a day job.

I'm thinking a week. But ask Jon Stittsworth as he's had one in much more recently.

I used Gary's Differential Specialist in Moore once when I was building a 9 inch diff for my '55 F100. He was reasonable on price and fast turn around, but all I needed was new bearings installed. 405-794-0988, worth a call.

I ended up going with Gary's in Moore and I'm happy that I did. He charged me $300 labor with me supplying all of the parts to include fluids. His team did an excellent job rebuilding the entire differential to include setting up the new gearset and Trac-Loc. The rear end makes no noise and performs flawlessly.

So, if anyone in the OKC area needs a differential rebuilt/regeared, I recommend his services.

Busy, busy, busy. From vacations to Florida, your typical holiday madness, and having fun with a 6 month old baby and a 2 1/2 year old toddler, I've been pretty darn busy.

I can understand. We kept our two year-old grandtwins and discovered we run out of energy pretty quickly. And we aren't working!
