Need help - brake measurement

I have a dana 60 from a 59 F250 that I am putting in my 49 F3. I couldn't get brake drums in Australia so with the help of a friend got a set at NAPA in the US. Problem is they measure 2.5" across the friction surface, the brake pads are only 2". Is this right? Can someone please measure a drum and let me know before I spend a fortune shipping the wrong drums to Aus.

Thanks.

The manual does call out for the width of the brake linings to be 2" for front and rear for the F-250 1960. The brake drum spec. is only listed as diameter, which is 12 1/8". Not sure of the depth. The manual does state that the F-350 uses 2 1/2" wide brake linings with 13 inch diameter drums. Sounds like your brake drums you found may be for a F-350 with a larger diameter backing plate.

The diameter is correct at 12 1/8" so I don't think they are F-350 drums.
