N00b question. I am going to install a 4" lift on my Bronco (freebie) and im trying to decide what size tires I will be running. I was decided on 35's until i saw a bronco with 35's and no lift, so i just want to make sure.

Please post up your trucks. Ideally, i would like to see a 4" lift on 35x12.50's with 15x10's but ill look at everything. It will be mostly a pavement princess, because the truck is too nice and original to beat up in the trails, so im not too concerned about stuffing the tires when articulating. Thanks!

One of my old 79 Broncos had a 4" lift and 36" RVT's on 15x12 wheels when I got it. They cleared with no problems....even getting a little crazy!! That's what I love about the 78/79 Broncos and 70's Ford trucks.....they had that big wheel opening!! Remember, there is a lot of axle movement on that coil spring front end. You can "fit" a 35" on a stock suspension, but if you do anything off road....you have a good chance of stuffing a tire into a fender!

TGM will fit the bill even if it isn't the lift you mean.


78, with a 3" body lift which means, your bronco will look very similar but with more suspension showing. Seeing as the OEM body bushings are about 1" anyways I can say it's about 4".


35 inches of beautiful Wrangler MTR Kevlar rubber. 15 inch steel black rims that are 11 inches wide, the tires are 12.5.
Even dirty that are awesome.


Even with stock suspension the tires will tuck in nicely.


I couldn't and still haven't ever gotten this to bottom out.


I also have the stock front and back stabilizer bars. I love to show off my truck and the picture thread that Mr. Encho posted will have a lot of mine. Cruising first to last would take a while but it is worth it.

Harley, I have to say, that is a sexy bronco.... It does look like you have a bit of a saggy *** though Probably just needs an Add-A-Leaf though to stiffen it a bit.

 

awesome! sell me your wheels! ive been looking for a set of 15x10 turbine wheels with no luck...do you have radius arm drop brackets?

 

Judging by the pictures and the angle of the radius arms, I would say he has some sort of drop bracket. I like the look of those Turbine rims but they are getting hard to come-by.

 

Im not sure if my freebie 4" lift has drop brackets or not, since i havent opened the boxes yet...lol

there is a company in Royal Oak Michigan, by me, that refinishes and sells turbines. they have a set of 4 15x10 5x5.5 for $2000. excuse me while i puke

 

Sorry for the late reply, Thanks for the compliments folks. No the radius arm brackets are stock. The Turbines took me a couple of years to find. I've had them on the '79 now for a couple of years and I have still continued looking for 1 more for the spare to match. I have found them on Ebay for a price that would cost me more then a brand new set of 35" tires...

 

If these guys sell on Ebay they might be the ones I'm talking about...cause the price sounds familiar...

 

Also if your not set on 15x10s, I saw an ad on craiglist the other day under ford truck parts where a guy is parting out a early 70's F series 1/2 ton with turbine wheels. Instead of black like mine they are red, but look to be 15x8...
