If your truck is a shortbed it'll take about 7 spray cans of the Duplicolor stuff, which totals to around $60. The spray version holds up better and goes on a lot cleaner. I did the spray in my '89 and it looked great. I never hauled anything heavier than a person riding in the back though.

In my 1994 F-150 I did the roll-in kit, never really hauled anything other than an old tire I was too lazy to dispose of. The bedliner started chipping real bad near the tailgate. I spot primed and then used the spray version of Duplicolor bedliner over it and never had anymore problems.

Both have a nice gloss at first but fade rapidly in direct sunlight. Before I sold my '89 I used the el-cheapo 97 cents a can gloss black spray to freshen the finish up.

I found the Herculiner at a local auto parts store for $40 a gallon. Was looking all over the internet and found nothing under $90 after S/H and decided to call around town. Try calling some of the local auto stores if you haven't yet. Just my 2 cents though. Good luck!

I can tell you the spray on version spruced up an old grill guard/push bar very nicely. That was about 3 months ago with no chipping, peeling or anything else. Scuffed up everything with 3M scotchbrite pad will before spraying liner stuff on.
