Hello,

I've found what I understand to be a cartridge filter used on the return leg of the system, but according to the parts books I should have a very familiar can type filter (Fram G3802) on the pressurized side. I'm not finding that...Stranger yet, it really looked as if the output of the pump on the frame goes strait to the rail/injectors. I've never heard of a fuel system that didn't have a filter right before the carburetor or injectors.

 

Here's what it's supposed to look like. There is a filter going up the frame rail, and there is also a small filter in the fuel reservoir which I call the switching valve.

Thank you for posting that drawing. I am missing the filter between the pump and the injectors according to that drawing...that is very odd to the least. I'll have to do some disassembly to figure out what's going on. How brittle can I expect the factory plastic lines to be? If it's the same stuff they use on vacuum lines, I should be prepared to change out all that stuff!

 

The nylon lines seem to hold up well. But if something happens, you can usually use a heat gun and slide them over a regular hose barb. If the whole line was shot I think I would switch over to metal using the universal lines they have on the rack in the store.
