When did your 6.2 feel "broken in"?

I bought mine back in August and now have 24,000 on it. I really felt mine was truly broken in right after 20,000 miles. Maybe it's all in my head... Any opinions?

I don't have mine yet. But did you notice any increase in power after 20,000 miles?

Hmm, mine felt broken in once I got a 5 star tune on it.

Honestly though, I think it took a couple thousand miles on mine before I felt like the motor wasn't all wound tight, for lack of a better term...

It feels the same power-wise... maybe I'm just really used to every little thing about it. Maybe a 5-Star tuner will be in the future if I keep it past the warranty running out.

I got mine 3 weeks ago and it now has 500mi on it. It feels like its holding power back. When taking off from a stop it feels like the power comes on slowly. But it's brand new. I haven't even put gas in it yet, still running the free tank out from the dealer.

I had around 1500 miles on it and decided to check out the towing. With 7000 pounds behind me I took off from Cheyenne to Chugwater on a somewhat windy day. Wind was from the west as usual and around 35 gusting to 45 so a normal breeze for us out here. She held 65mph in tow haul with 6th locked out just fine using 4th and 5th. Now on the way back I believe the wind shifted as she stayed in 4th and twice went down to 3rd. Man that 6.2 can sing. Around half way back it just setteled in. Was strange, didn't need 3rd anymore and just seemed relaxed singing along in 4th. I have 3.73's. Mind you this is all around 6000 ft altitude.

20,000 miles

Sounds right. I drove to AZ and back to WA and realize the truck felt different. I need 5 star tuning next. 20k sounds about right.

Something weird happened to my truck recently. My mpg went from
11.5-12.2 mpg to 13-14 mpg almost overnite! Yeah, it's a real increase. I figure I'm getting 100 miles more per tank. I can't explain it. Just turned 47,000 miles. Ed likes!

I know in my area they are switching over from winter blend fuel to summer blend. I always see around 1 to 1.5 increase in miles per gallon on the summer blend.
