Hello all,

Getting passed 55K on the truck now.
4x4 EL Limited.
Tires are starting to look worse for ware.

Any suggestions on replacements?
Currently has 20inchers on it stock from dealer.

I didn't check your location but I only buy Michelin tires. If I were going with a set and keeping the truck I would go with either the LTX AT2 or the Goodyear Wrangler SR-A. The michelins will be good for about 70 to 90k depending on the power you are making, how much trailering you do and how much you rotate the tires. If money were no object I would go LTX AT2 and not look back. They will be a hair louder than the SR-A but are better off the concrete jungle.

nope personally there's only 4 small patches connect my *** to the road and I want them to be the best possible and on a light truck that's michelin or Goodyear unless you need something aggressive then I would go Nitto Terra Grappler or BFG AT/KOs and with the BFGs you'll need 6 to 7 tires to make a set of 4 balanced tires.

I love the Wrangler Silent Armour
and
I love the Firestone Destination A/T

both were excellent mid-range tires that I would buy again in a heartbeat. The Silent Armour looked beefier, but both had excellent wet/dry traction and they rate at the top of their category on Tirerack.com

 

$1500 or so.

 

With that budget my only choice would be the LTX AT2. I've run every tire mentioned in this thread with the exception of the firestones and nothing will compete in all categories with the Michelin.

 

I looked those tire up on Mechilins site and for my truck, Ford Expedition EL 4x4 Limited they said they had no 20" ones available.

 

When I put them on mine at work I had to choose the plus zero sizing I believe. If you want to stay stock size you'll have to go with either the LTX M/S2, a great tire but not as good off the concrete jungle or the Goodyear SR-A another good tire same downfall as the M/S2 in that it's off road behavior is substandard for an "A/T".

285/55R20 would be close in size, about a 1/2 inch taller. Note that the 18" tires for some reason are 32.1 and the 20"s are just a hair under 32". Why I have no idea.

The LTX M/S2 is a great tire and will take care of you till somewhere between 80 and 100K miles. They last longer than the AT2 hands down but are not as aggressive.
