Intake manifold replacement - 2001 f150 5.4

Hello, I'm replacing my intake manifold due to what appears to be a common coolant leak on the front passenger side. This is my first manifold replacement and a buddy of mine told me I needed to use a gasket sealant, that I could just put the new manifold on. I've searched around and not seen any one else express experience with this specific issue. I got the dorman replacement and I've torn the engine down to the manifold which I'm in the process of taking off now. Is there anything I should replace now that I have access to the top of the engine (plugs were just done)?

Also, does anyone know where I can get new manifold bolts, the old ones look pretty brittle.

My main question though is if I need the sealant cause I really don't want to do this job twice.

I think most of the gaskets have a rubber right imbedded in them. I always like to wipe a VERY thin layer of RTV on the gaskets to make them sticky and then install. I think a lot of places install them dry.

Thanks for the tip. I think I am going to use a like coat of rtv as you suggested. My only concern is getting it everywhere when I slide the manifold back in, that or taking so long that it dries and messing up the mating surface.
