No V-10 engines for 2014 model F-450/F-550 & F-650/F-750s?!
According to "BBL FLEET", the "Final Order Date" for the 6.8L engine is on 4/26/2013 .....in F-450/F-550!!!!! The 2014 F-650/F-750 model year bank open and "Job #1/Start-Up Date" are "TBD",but does this mean the 6.8L V-10 is being replaced for 2014?!

I agree, the demand is way down for gassers in the heavy duty trucks. It doesn't help that when a guy shows up to the dealership looking for a work truck the first words out of their mouth are 6.7 not 6.8. Don't blame them, but a newcomer to the heavy duty truck scene isn't going to ask about other options when they needed a truck yesterday. Ford also hazed the v10 out of production leaving it with the 5 speed instead of upgrading it to the 6. It had a good run though and I'm not about to dump my v10 any day soon.

We all knew the day was coming, but to see an actual end date, it will be a sad day. As for not alot of demand for V10 medium duty trucks. Dealership I just visited Sunday had 10 V10s, maybe 3or4 diesels. On two other dealership's lots around my area, which stock F-650/F-750s, the count is V10: 7 units in stock, diesel: 1 unit. I'd say the V10 is rather popular in it's short production run(in F-650) (2012-2013). We were just getting STARTED with V10 medium duties! Even though I do like the 6.2L V8, I hope Ford gives it a power boost before putting it into a F-650. The 434lb.ft. of torque version would be better, or a bigger V8 that SUPPOSEDLY EXISTS(the "7.0L")Still, I'll miss seeing those"TRITON V10" badges on new Ford trucks.

See www.donlen.com>Resource Center>Build Out Startup Date
That chart shows a 2013 F250-F550 last-order date of 5/24/13. That's 3 months earlier than the same last year. Correspondingly, Ford is accepting orders for 2014s 3 months earlier than the same-period last year, 5/14/13.
I'd say within a few weeks we should see some Ford Order Guides appearing on the net to answer the engine availability questions. I'm hoping for something more than the 6.2L.

The 5.0L engine would be an interesting choice for the F450/550/650, but I'm guessing the 6.2L will be the V10's replacement. The new Shelby Raptor F-150 has a 575 horsepower 6.2L V8. Commercial trucks would be better served having 575 lb./ft. of torque, but I'd be happy to see the 575 horse Shelby 6.2L in the F450/550/650, just the same!!! Anyone know the torque rating of that 6.2L engine?!

Well, I just was at Ford's media website. According to what I read today, the Windsor plant(where the 6.8L V10 is built), will be increasing production by "25% for 2014".....so some vehicles will still will be getting V10s. Most likely, F-650, and stripped chassis(motorhome) trucks. Not clear on F-450/550 trucks, but this is GOOD NEWS....V10s still being around for 2014! Just an idea for Ford: maybe a power increase for the V10? It's been 8 years(2005) since the last power increase. Aren't we about due? 390-400 horsepower, and 490-500 lb./ft. of torque sounds about right.
