Hi,

I have a 05 with an Air Raid filter (got the truck used with it in 08): should I order a new filter (http://www.airaid.com/kit_replacement.aspx)? or just cleaned (did it already a few times..now it's really dirty).

If i go the replacement route (part number 400-131-1) should i go with the SynthaFlow or Syntha Max?

The truck is used for towing (on a weekend basis), we do go down some pretty dusty roads at times.

If you clean it good with the cleaner kit and re oil it should be good. I had mine new in 05 and ran it for 6 years and it was great. I clean it often and was always on dusty Forrest service roads I disagree with the keep it stock fan boys. Each to their own though.

 

The stock Donaldson unit on the 6.0s can feed a 500 hp motor. It is super good at catching dirt. I would never go to a aftermarket filter on my 6.0.

 

Check the blades of your turbo and I believe you would then return to a stock air induction system......

If you are determined to continue using what you have, go with a NEW filter.
