Another trans ID thread
I came across a 3 sp manual in a '60 f100 with a long wheelbase and a 223. It needs some bearings and gaskets, but the price was right.
Here's the specs.
9 bolt rectangular side cover with AB-7222B F26 and 9M2
Top of main case AF-7006D-24
Bottom of main case 9M3
Front bearing support TAAA 7050(3?) unsure of last #
Tail shaft 9K14 18(6?) WAR 7651 A
I think it's a T87, but my knowledge of all things Ford is still in it's infancy.
Thanks in advance
also it isn't an OD trans

If you are able to get the vin number from the truck it came out of, that may be your best bet. It can be decoded to tell what it is, I think. Unless it is not original to the truck.
Those numbers you quoted are most likely nothing but engineering numbers, not part numbers, and I will guess that NumberDummy will say that they are useless as **** on a boar for determining your transmission. Well, he might be more polite than that.
It is either a light duty, or medium duty 3-speed - whatever those designations mean.

T87D pics posts 6 & 7. One set up for column shift, the other floor shift:

OK this one had column shift. I was gonna snag the column shift linkage but someone beat me to that. So we can safely say that it's light duty as it has the 9 bolt side load rectangular access. On the right track. What do I use for ordering parts? It atleast needs gaskets and possibly an input shaft bearing

Your '59 VIN: F25C9RXXXXX / F25 = F250 / C = 292 2V / 9 = 1959 / R = San Jose CA Assembly Plant / XXXXX = 1959 Numerical Sequence of Assembly.
Where is the TRANS code...no see um.
TRANS code listed separately on Rating Plate (1948/60), Warranty Plate (1961/79), Certification Label (1980 to date).

Bearings/cups have BIN's (Bearing Industry Numbers) stamped on them, what autoparts stores/bearings shops go by.
C3AZ-7025-B .. Front Bearing = BIN: 15039 or 550010 or 550301 or 207-L // 51A-7065 .. Rear Bearing = BIN: 15040 or 306-L
Take a look-see in this trans, these are the two ball bearings required. Will also need front/rear seals, aforementioned gasket set.
And, 1952 was the last year that a 3 M/T was available in a truck w/a floor shift.

Well after some measuring it's clear that I would have a clearance problem with a Xmember and the drive shaft would be way too short for my liking. But I know what it is now. I did keep the bell and the shift linkage. So when I find a T87 for a short bed, I'm gonna go that route. 3 on da tree sounds good to me

Bolt pattern is different. You either have to weld a slug on the 3 sp bell or get one from John Mummert at ford y. My understanding is the spline count and diameter of the input shaft is the same but a different pilot bearing is required. I decided to just overhaul one of my T98 4 speeds. I'll get a gasket and bearing kit and use the best pieces from the two.
