Home Made Air Cleaner
I was digging thru my pack rat stash and found a coupla pieces of aluminum which is .090 and, IIRC, 5052
A little time with the band saw and the sanding disc and I'll be on my way. I have a 2&5/8" hole in the bottom and I have the top roughed out. I'll be using some spacers left from my hanging coffee pot (pack rat syndrome is a disease all of us DIY'ers suffer from) to locate the element and hold it in place. More tomorrow.

I still have to break the edges, but it looks good. I had to buy some 10/24 lock nuts for the spacers, total expenditure of a buck and a half. You can see what I did with those. As it turns out, there is just enough give in them when I tightened the bolts so that the filter element is nice and snug (I got lucky!)
One of the bolts is too long and another is flat blade screwdrive rather than phillips. Big deal, I put them on the bottom where they can't be seen

I agree. however, if I didn't already have the material, I woulda just bought one to fit. But I doubt if anybody has one like it and that's a plus from my perspective
