If everything is there on the 4bt go for it, but the 4BT is a heavy engine, might have to modify front end because of weight.

I prefer my 1/2 tons to be long-legged and my Jeeps to be torquey.
In fact I'd start another Jeep build tomorrow if I had my hands on that 4BT you mentioned.
Definitely go with the 5.0.

I think that 4bt would be kinda heavy for the cv suspension, Id go with the 5.0 but I like my small block fords, Im doing a roller 351w in my 63 uni. Ive done a 408 stroker with efi that puts down 462hp and is pretty mild its in one of my mustangs I would love to put that in my 63 uni. But do what makes ya happy and what you like to mess with whatever it will be cool.

I would have to agree with you but he could do bags over the springs to help it out... At one point I will be doing a CV front end so I can get rid of the BS I beams...ugh. I want my mustang drive train in my truck! I think it will/would be alot of fun!

The crown vic is coil spring so don't think bags would help, I mean if hes doing the 03 up CV swap the main part of it is aluminum so would think there would be a lot of stress on it also the rod ends and ball joints but who knows. Can always put heavier coil springs in it.

I personally think a 5.0 would be a great fit for these trucks.
