We have a 77 F-100 our plans are to do the crown vic swap w/4.6, F/R susp, disk all around, and lowered 5". This will be our 1st ford project. We have alot to learn, so any and all input will be appreciated.

I host my pictures on photo bucket or the like. It's the easiest route to go. Can't wait to see the progress!

The Donor; 1999 wit 93xxx on the clock. Still need to find a 03 up subframe.
The rear axle has disk wit 3:27 gear limited slip. Could someone tell me if there is any reasons I couldn't us it?

On the 73' to 79' trucks if you had bought a Towncar the wheel base would have been the same. For the 67'-72' trucks the Crown Vic's have the same wheel base. Then you just swap bodies and that's it. You have a F100 with a 4.6l pwr steering, A/c, 4 wheel disc brakes and it's lowered. Factory ride height for a CV but about 6" lower than an F100. 25 mpg too. To make the 4.6l run it is easier to use a keyless entry car. Good-Luck.

Have you seen that body swap done or is that just an idea ? I hear all kinds of ideas, but some facts would be helpful . Body swap like that is some thing i might want to do.

My uncle has done 3 of the 67'-72' truck's. And is starting the 4th on Monday. We have taken measurements on the 73'-79' truck's. I have a 73' that we will be doing a 03' and up CV crossmember swap. I'm more into the 48'-56' truck's. I hang out at his shop a good bit. You ever have too many plans, with too many car's and not enough money? That's me.

Question HELP !!

they are mounting the CV subframe. Got to the point where welding the lower control arms rear mounts on but not sure how to line the up.? Moving the rear of the lower control arm in or out changes the camber/caster (ball joint angle) so how do you know where to weld the mounts?

Cut the spacers/tubes out of the CV frame and used a 1.5" hole saw and droped the original CV spacers in place and welded them in. Just like factory did on the CV.
