1994 F250 7.3 IDI - Hard Start/Fuel Leak
Hey guys, new to the forum here...
As the title says, I have a 1994 F250 7.3L non-turbo IDI. It was a farm truck, I bought it @ 171k miles (first diesel to own, although I've worked on a few before), and now that I'm using it as a DD, things are starting to break/unravel... I noticed it getting progressively harder to start after sitting for an hour or so, so I did a bunch of reading & research, and determined that my particular set of symptoms (WTS & GP Relay properly functioning) must be due to a leaking fuel line, allowing the system to de-prime once it's turned off. I closely inspected the injector pump, and sure enough, the center supply line (from the filter assembly) is loose enough at the pump that I can move it in & out with my hand, and it & the valley are covered in fuel as well.
Now, my question is, what "kit" do I need to buy? I realize that ideally, I would replace all the seals in this portion of the system, since the others can't be too far off from failing, so does that mean I need to get the injector seal kit and an "Injector Pump Installation Kit"?
I'm just needing a little guidance on the exact seal(s) or set(s) of seal(s) needed to repair the current issue, as well as maybe do a little preventative maintenance. With all the diesels I've worked on in the past, the owners had already purchased the parts, & I just installed them.
Thanks so much for your time & advice; this forum has already been a wealth of information!
