Where is Bank 2 Sensor 2 Oxygen Sensor

I have a 2009 F-250 gas/5.4 and just had the dealer replace the passenger side knock sensor because a mouse chewed through the wire and check engine light came on. Twenty five miles after leaving the dealer the check engine light comes on and I took it to Auto Zone to read the code and they said it was P2272 which is bank two sensor two oxygen sensor. Does anyone know why I would now have this problem and where this sensor is located ? Before or after cat and pasenger or drivers side ?

OXYGEN SENSOR

Bank 2 Sensor 2 should be on the Driver's side rearward of the catalytic converter.

I changed both of mine a couple of months ago. I thought bank 2 was on the passenger side. Same code came back. Then I learned here that bank 2 is driver's side on a Ford. Easy job with a 7/8" box end wrench. Mine are actually in the catalytic converter cases. Sensors 1 are in the head pipes before the cats.

Thanks, I tried taking mine out yesterday and despite soaking it down pretty good I could not budge it. Truck only has 52k on it so I am a little shocked I could not get it out.

Take a torch(propane or acetylene) and heat around the sensor on the pipe while you are trying to turn the sensor. That is the only way I could get my 25 year old Blazer's sensor out last week. Make sure you have an extinguisher close by in case you got too much penetrant on it.

Our son's 15 yr old Dakota was a bear to change. After penetrating oil and a torch, I finally grabbed a pipe wrench. Thought I was going to ruin the exhaust pipe before it finally broke loose. With my F250, I used the box end wrench and a short pry bar for leverage against the pipe and wrench. They both broke loose pretty easy. Their location actually made this method easier.

Use a good penetrating oil, like PB Blaster or the WD-40 penetrating oil. Regular WD-40 is not a penetrating oil.

Resurrecting s 12 yr old post...When you put it back put Anti Seize on the threads. I used a socket and put a piece of pipe for leverage. Put Map gas on it for about 1-2 minutes, spray a bit of PB Blaster (it will evaporate) put pressure on the ratchet. Go forward and back, but easy, constant pressure is good. Rent the Oxygen sensor removal kit from the auto parts store.
