ok, so, if i understand right, each time around damper, (IT Takes 2) to make a complete cycle in timing? one intake & one exhaust?? right?? OK , i'll try again, just heard so much about fiber gears & such, just about ready to tear down timing cover & check gears?? and again thanks so much for help, i been working with 300's too long, took this 352 in trade last week, still don't know if going to fix it or sell as is??? again thanks, merry Christmas also!!!!

Simple check is to remove #1 plug and place finger in hole while turning the engine and as soon as compression forces finger out, stop and check position of the rotor and timing mark, should be in ball park with rotor pointing to #1 mark on dist. to #1 plug wire and cyl., and timing mark close to TDC. Couple of cheap tune up tool I found come in handy for a quick check while under the hood is an 'inline spark plug tester', and a 'remote start button', the type where 1 lead go's to the start relay and the other lead go's to pos. side of battery. Believe dizzy rotation is 'counterclickwise' and fire order is 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8. Not an authority, understand 4 stroke cyle consist of 2 rotations of the crank and with some ignition systems the plug will fire in the compression stroke and again in the exhaust stroke? Certain if incorrect a knowledgeable machanic will certainly let me know?
