Aftermarket Wheels for 5 x 5.5 - What are you using?
Currently I have the chrome Smoothies, I do like them but I am looking for a change/update since my overhaul. Pics in gallery.
Right now I am running 15x7 inchers 4" of backspace all the way around with 15x60x235 BFG's in front, 15x60x275 BFG's on rear. Tires are all new.
I want to go to 8's on the rear and in know that 4 - 3.75 inches of backspacing will work very well for both front and rear. My truck is stock suspension with dics up front.
I have found a couple of 15 inch wheels by Rocket (Strike) and some by Vintage (V40, similar to a torq thrust). I know choices are limited just wondering what others have found or what it looks like on your truck if you have these or similar. My gut/tastes says the Vintage V40's, however they are special order and only come in 7in. Would hate to buy them and not like them. Show me your Torq Thurst type wheels!

I recenlty installed my old 5 hole slotted mags back on my truck. I was running the classic Cragar SS wheels.
I'm also a big fan of the Torq Thrust wheels and think they would look fantastic on your truck.
What are your plans for the smoothies when you take them off? I might be interested if the price was right. I've always like the smoothie look.

Finding Torq Thrust style wheels in 5.5 in bolt circle is going to be difficult. Most wheels in that bolt pattern are special order and most companies especially American Racing will not drill the wheels to that large a bolt circle. I talked to the tech support guy at American Racing and he told me that the only wheels they will drill at 5.5 in bolt circle are the solid disc type wheels like the Salt Flat Specials. That large a bolt circle is too close to the edge of the center disc between the spokes to have enough strength in the wheel. Liability and lawyers rule again. I was deciding between the American Racing Torq Thrusts and the Salt Flat Specials to use on my 5 x 5.5 bolt pattern truck. Salt Flat Specials it will be.

Jegs has the Torq Thrust wheels in stock, PN 286-309-5776 for 7 inch fronts and PN 286-309-58576 for 8.5 inch rears. TTO Series 309. Polished are special order and take a little longer. I may go with the PN's listed above with the gray center $737 delivered to my door.
Vintage also has a similar wheel in stock in both 7 and 8 inch as does Rocket, they have 3 differnt wheels in our bolt pattern, I like the Strike.
