dealership "book" time on Ford OEM Gold Alarm/starter install?

Does anyone happen to know what the dealership book time is to install the OEM Ford Gold Alarm and remote start?(Remote Start System - 200 Series With Keyless Entry & Alarm Part No: 7L3Z-19G364-AA)

We took our '08 E.B. Expedition in last Wednesday, and as of tonight - *Monday Dec. 3 - we still haven't got it back.

I was told (and believe) its a bunch of wires to install, and the dealership tells me they want to make sure everything is alright, but I'm thinking for it to take THIS long something maybe went wrong? ie: installed incorrect and fried some wires?

If anyone knows what it SHOULD take to install, and can suggest things to look for to see if something went wrong (I'm sure the dealership would have cleaned everything up to look 100%) I would appreciate it! Thanks in advance.

Far as I know, those things are almost a one day install, two at the most. Could be there's missing or other parts needed that were ordered? 4 days or more means something is wrong.

I agree. If I remember correctly (when we took the SUV in we were getting ready for an out of state vacation) I was told it would take about 5 hours.

I can only assume something went wrong, but was told by the service adviser "This top of the line remote start / alarm has many options to it, and we want to make sure this install is done right."

6 days for an install?

Now I'm worried that maybe some of the wiring was fried when they attempted to see if everything worked correctly and now something could be messed up long term.

When we go pick it up, I might have the Service Manager there to explain WTH happened, but I already know I won't be getting the truth!

Total crap. They either damaged something and are waiting for parts or are going to charge you 20+ hours. It does not take that long. Any alarm-even very complicated-can be installed in 4 hours max by a competent installer.

Go to flatratetech and post this in the Ford section. They are ford employees that can help.

Expedition was finished tonight. Went to pick it up and the power steps didn't work !!!!!!!!

Needless to say it stayed at the dealership. Hopefully they can fix it for pick up tomorrow.

Charged me for $500.00 for install. I was told one of the two remotes was D.O.A. and they ordered me a new one that was programmed yesterday before we came to pick it up.

Service adviser just called to say there is a setting on the dash that can turn the power running boards off or on, and it took him 10 seconds to switch it back on as the Tech. had it turned off when he was installing so the running boards didn't keep on cracking him in the shins.
