ifs steering column.
Ok, I am picking up my 05 vic setup (finally in inventory and removed from the car) Monday. And of course a few questions. What is the easiest steering column to use in our trucks and adapt to this? I don't need stock. The other question would be the power steering pump and brake booster. Just thinking ahead at this point. The truck at this point is in pieces and I am trying to put together a plan of action for the winter. Thanks Kevin

I'm not familiar with that column. My concern is where the two hook together. Right now I have 2 460's sitting in my garage. I am planning on putting one of those in with a c-6 unless the weight is too much for the new suspension???? If so, I'll keep my eye out for a 351 Windsor or something that is lighter. However, I really like big blocks!

I believe you will be fine with the 460 considering the CV's are heavier than our trucks anyways. But I kept the original column with my swap. I used a pillow block on a bracket that was welded to the frame to keep the column stationary then I used a steering universal joint to connect the original column with the CV apparatus. Granted I did have to "modify" the CV linkage. I had to cut off the odd shaped end and cut a little recess on one side to make it all work. I realize this may not be the easiest option, but it wasn't all that hard either. It just comes down to what you are going for. Are you wanting it to look original, or are you wanting it to be modern. If you are interested in this option, you can check out my buildup thread. Good Luck! You'll love how great this setup performs!
