F500 Compliance Plate

F500 Compliance Plate
We are looking at purchasing an F500 - but the current owner has scratched the compliance plate when they were trying to clean the paint off.
All the numbers are visible but we are not sure what they refer to (eg serial number, paint code, year of make, etc.)
Can anyone assist with a possible plate layout?

Well, first of all welcome to FTE! Secondly, you will have to be a little more definative with your questions. Can you post any pics to let us know what era of truck you are talking about? It would be best if you posted the numbers from the VIN if possible, they are also located on top of the frame near the front axel on some trucks. It usually takes quite a bit of effort to get those numbers though.

NumberDummy (Bill) has told members from all over that decoding the Data Plate from other countries is impossible for him, since Ford's divisions within the various countries used different numbering codes/schemes.You'd need to check local intelligence, i.e.Ford of Australia, or an expert in a club there.Good luck.

US/Canada: Rating Plate 1948/60 / Warranty Plate 1961/80 / Certification Label 1981 to date.
Thru 1965, vehicles assembled/sold only in Canada have a different VIN & Rating/Warranty Plates than US trucks. 1966 and later is the same.
Vehicles assembled/sold in South Africa, "Down Under" may be different again. I've never seen one of these plates.
AFAIK, no one on FTE can decode South African/Down Under VIN's or codes stamped on Rating (Compliance) Plates, because no one has their specific parts catalogs.
US/Canada: The VIN, codes are reverse embossed on the plates, so even if corroded, scratched, or painted over...can still be read.
Steve: 1965 Canadian VIN & codes can be decoded as the info is listed in the 1964/72 Ford Truck Parts Catalog. But 1964 info isn't listed.
