Interference engine?

Is my 98' 5.4L 2V an interference engine or not. Also what about the other Ford modular engines from 97'-2010? Which are and which aren't?

He is asking if the cam drive chains were to fail and leave any valves at max lift, would the pistons hit them?

That's right.

Hey postmaster, coreyallenal scooped your answer. It that a spamer that I was warned about recently on your site?

Yup, user "coreyallenl" is a spammer, I just reported it. If other users here would report spammers when they see them via the red "!" alert icon to the right of the psammer's posting, they would be removed quicker, as I usually don't get on here till late. List the spammer's username in the resulting report dialog box so there is no confusion and to make it easier on the moderators.

Interference Engine question - From the 1997 shop manual 4.6L engine section, has the following warning:

CAUTION: At no time, when the timing chains are removed and the cylinder heads are installed may the crankshaft or camshaft be rotated. Severe piston and valve damage will occur.

My early edition 1997 manual does not have the 5.4L in it, but I would expect it to be the same.
