What do the factory toppers run these days? I have a guy locally that has one for sale, it ain't pretty, but it may clean up, whats the going rate so I know what to offer?

 

It's worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it. I would probably give a couple of hundred bucks for it but then again I dont really want one.

 

It depends how badly a person needs or wants it. We had a shell we spent months trying to give away, let alone sell.

 

I always see them on craigslist for around $25 dollars.

 

If it was in excellent condition i'd go $100 tops, but few are in excellent condition after 35yrs., most are pretty beat up and you can't even give em away.

I bought one in great shape last year for $50. They are very heavy and a pain to store but I like it for certain things.

 

This one was free! I love it, thanks to a FTE member.

In Colorado, I see them on CL for anywhere from "free" to about $150. Depends upon the condition and if it's the "standard" or "deluxe" model. I have 2 shells, both of them I paid $50 each. 1 is used as a donor for the "deluxe" windows, aluminum trim, parts and then I'll use that to restore the other.
