Copying from the 'Bible'

Hey I was wondering if it's ok out here on the internet to post up a photo and or text from a book. I was wanting to post up a photo in a thread here of a 9' styleside fridge. I found a pic in James Wagners 'FTS05' and took a close up photo of the photo in the book and it came out good, but then I got to thinking maybe it's some kind of infringement. The text below the photo is great too, describing a lot about the '57 in the photo. Very informative, but ??? As you can see in the photo here, I have worn the cover off this book since I first bought it in 1993.

Maybe I should just put the picture up and see if the cops come to my door. They never did when I tore the tag off my pillow.

Well, you yanked out a Ford engine and replaced it with brand X and lived to tell about it here on FTE, so I guess it should be okay to post pics from some old book!

I've done it. As long as you're giving credit to the source you're covered in any form of communication. Stu

Yep should be fine as long as you give the source as stated, and not implying it is your own.

Does this help

I talked with the owner at the car show where I took these pictures and got the story on the truck.
It is very low miles on the clock. He trailers in in for the car shows. He bought it for $1,000 dollars a few years ago from a used car lot in Montana where he lives. The farmer who traded it in had used it only to haul in his winter coal supply from Montana to close by Idaho. When he had no more need for the truck he traded it in on a new model and thats when the present owner bought it and has only removed a few dents and added new paint. It had a straight six motor. I thought I had a pic of it but I cant seem to locate it. Anyway not trying to steal your thunder just had a pic of one so thought Id share.

WOW! No thunder stolen. First pic of a fridge 9' styleside other than in a book. Never seen one in person other than the one I built from parts. What an awesome find. I have a little more work to do on mine before I take a trip to Montana, but I'm definately doing it. If you have the owner's info, maybe you could pm me. I read they made about 1200 9' flareside fridges per year for the 4 year run, and obviously with a tonner, most of 'em were 'ridden hard and put away wet'. Thanks so much for the photos. Now I'll post the '57 9' styleside in the flatdeck post. Not nearly as impressive though.

Are those kick plates stock in the third pic? I kind of like 'em. The rest of the truck is a little too pretty for me, sounds like something that you have to worry about and hope nobody scratches it at a show kind of thing!

That would sure be a crime if they did! That thing looks just right!

My paint is so real that I wouldn't mind if somebody stopped and laid their kid on the hood to change a dirty diaper!
