Fuel injector flow rate?

I have 1992 E150 with a 351 and need to know what flow rate the stock injectors are..... Mine are red topped. I have no idea what they are all the literature online says 30 lb/hr, and mostly found in the '92 Super Coupe....... Is it possible this has been worked over?

Are they a deep red or a red-orange? I'm pretty sure the stock ones are 19# same as a 302, the 351 doesn't make that much more peak HP, just a ton more throughout the rest of theRPM range. 19# units normally have red-orange tops.

It's my understanding stock injectors were @ 19#, although if you cruise the net, you'll get dozens of different answers (e.g. fiveomotorsport.com lists the stock injector for that year as 21# which is a purplish color). My '93 does have the 19's in it, and any increase in injector gph will require a map sensor calibrated for that flow rate. Increasing the flow rate on a 351w with stock heads is pretty much useless, and normaly most folks don't up-grade injectors unless their going to increase the breathing capacity of the motor.

Fuel injector flow rate?

The only history I know about this van is that a racing team used it to tow their stock car, and it was also the service vehicle while at the track.... It still has the grease stains in the carpet..... It gets really good gas mileage and performs better than most other vehicles I have driven, also lopes a little at idle.

Have you taken a good look at the heads on the van? Are they iron or aluminum? I have seen a lot of guys at the track who have put some serious $$$ into their tow rig motors.

You might have come across one of the ones that are built well enough to need 30# injectors. If they built their race engines, they would probably know the right injectors to put with the tow motor.

Another consideration might be that the injectors are made by a different company that uses red for their 19# or 24# injectors (FYI- that last thought is just a wild stab on my part , I've heard that Accel's 19# injectors are bright yellow )

they appear to be iron, however the van runs like a raped ape, 0-60 in under 9 seconds, (around 8 last time I clocked it) empty. Also it tows like no tomorrow, it's pretty bad when a full size van towing about 8000 pounds up a mountain is pulling away from the mini-van behind it. (we had stopped to secure the straps on the trailer and we couldn't catch dad in my van.)
