6.0 Batteries

Looking to replace the batteries on my 05 6.0.

I'm leaning towards the costco ones: their guide states 650 CCA, would there be a problem going with an higher CCA?

here are some info that might help you

1)truck is used on weekends to pull a horse trailer or other errands (since we don't drive it much over the work week we pretty much drive it everywhere on the weekend)

2)Temps here don't really drop below freezing, aside from a few trip to the mountains during the year

3)there aren't any increased electrical systems load in the truck: no winches, extra lights, big speaker. Plain Stock

If you have an autozone near you, get some of their Duralast Gold batteries. They are 1000 CA and 850 CCA, PLENTY of power to start your truck in the hot of summer or the bitter cold of winter.

I've run them since 2007 with absolutely no issues...

I have used autozone batteries for years ( duralast gold) with no problems. There is usually an autozone in every town so replacement under the 3 year warranty is never a big deal. My old truck used to sit parked all winter outside and in the 3 years I would park it for the winter it always started and never let me down

Mark said something a long time ago about stock being 750cca and not 650. Don't know if that's right or just a mistype, but either way I'd do 850CCA in my truck.

Good excuse to pick up a load tester, I have a Solar BA7 that I use to test my batteries fairly often, the 6.0L is rough on them with how long the glow plugs stay on for each start.
