97 f250 problems

Hey all. got an automatic 97 4x4 f250 with a gas 460 and am having some problems which all may be linked to each other any ideas would be appreciated.

started with cruising down the road and tac bouncing down then back up 200 to 300 rpms. Almost felt like i was hitting my brakes or dis-engaging od.

Next some hard shifting and hesitant shift points when getting up to speed limit and rpm problem still.

Then last night on my way to work i noticed my 3rd brake light keeps going on and off just driving down the road almost like i keep tapping the brakes. had a coworker watch and found that all my brake lights were doing this. and on my way home i watched and it almost seemed like lights were doing this when rpms would bounce. dunno though.

Please any info would help if it helps i am throwing a throttle positioning sensor code at the moment thanks

Hazzerd switch and brake Light Switch are connected to the Tourque Converter Lock-up Circuit to disengage the tourque converter when the brake pedal is pressed. The change in RPM when locked and unlocked is approx 200RPM. Brake pedal switch may be out of adustment or faulty.

Brake light switch is located under the dash on the Brake Pedal.

Hazzard (Or 4-Way, Or Warning) Switch is that little red button on top of your steering Column.

Change the brake light switch, and you should be good to go.

remembered a wire that had been cut when i bought the truck, i had wired it back together and decided to cut it again the other day and the truck had no problems on my way to work last night. wondering what this wire is and if it was causing all my problems or if i just had a good night.?
