They are out there, just keep your eyes open for an F or B500 or 600. Possibly also an F350 that had the 19.5 wheels OEM. I found a pair on Ebay a couple of years ago at a good price for one of the trucks I am working on. I know where a pair are (on a B500) but it is a 58 and there is not much left of the fenders, probably 75% rust through.

Ryan - When we were at Iola did you or your dad stop and talk to the guy that sells fiberglass stuff? He sells full '59/'60 fenders, I'm sure they would be the wide lip half ton style, but it might be that you could (or they might for you) open up the arches to yield the narrow profile. The company is B&E Fiberglass, Inc. Their email is B-EFiberglass@arvig.net.

There's another company I have a note about that does '57-'60 glass parts too, but I don't remember what they have. Name of the company is V.F.N. Fiberglass. The web site is VFN Fiber Glass-Official Site. Stu

yea, i talked to the guy and picked up a flyer. they are 57-58, round blinker f100 fenders. he said they could be modified for 59-60. as you know we have plenty of time, there are a lot of things on the want list before that. there are some on ebay right now with the wide lip but there not much cheaper than green sales. maybe next year at iola i will find some nos for $60. thanks for the links.

You should tell the story. Then add the kicker about finding the other side too, and the collection of lights! Stu

so me and my son found ourselves at the iola swap meet with Stu. i have currently switched projects to my 66 ford galaxie fastback. it was my highschool car and my dad bought it brand new from my great uncle joes ford dealership. i was looking for a left front fender when my son came across a NOS right side fender. figured it would be worth asking about so i waited for the owner to get off his cell phone. he was chewing some poor guy a new one over some parts he had. he got off the phone and i asked "how much for the 66 fender?" he said the C6 fender? then he began to give me a lecture about ford part numbers. we played the how much, make me an offer game for a bit. i really didnt need it so i was thinking i would go $100, so i would start at $50 and hope he didnt hit me. i knew he would never take $100. i blurted out 50 and he said WHAT, DO YOU KNOW WHAT THAT IS? THATS NOS. FIFTY BUCKS? then to my surprise he said 60 BUCKS AND GET THAT GD FENDER OUTTA MY SIGHT. YOU KNOW WHAT A GOOD DEAL IM GIVING YOU, I KNOW WHAT A GOOD DEAL IM GIVING YOU. YOU KNOW THAT. GET THAT THING OUTTA HERE! IM SICK OF LOOKING AT IT! i payed the man and carried away my $60 nos front fender in disbelief. as we walked away we laughed about the whole deal and tried to figure out why he was so pissed at the fender. all we could figure was that he had been packing it around for years and years trying to sell it with no luck. Stu said i got a free fender and a $60 story. the next day my son spotted the left front fender. it was used but really clean. i had to deal with 13 people on that one that must have been drinking all day. that was $40 and scored a right side door for $25. i bought enough taillights and headlight bezels for 2 or 3 more cars. you gotta get them when you find them cheap. i think Stu was starting to look at me funny when i kept buying taillights. it was a great trip! thanks again Stu for letting us crash in the lab-mobile.

[quote=thundersnow70;12133757] "how much for the 66 fender?" he said the C6 fender? quote]

Whith my shy personality, I prolly would have asked him what year C6 trannys had fenders! Just to get him going and I prolly wouldn't have ended up with the fender! Way to go!

he didnt seem like he was in the mood for a joke and i wasnt in the mood for a lesson on ford part numbers from the 60's. my son was paying attention and spent the rest of our time at the swap meet checking the year of the parts he picked up and looked at. it was just one of the many things we learned in iola.

I'll add another piece of the story. I got to Iola before Mark and Ryan and had already wandered through this old man's space earlier. During that stop the old man was going at it with another potential customer working to squeeze every dime he could get outta the guy. So when Mark found the NOS fender, and got into the exchange he described above, I thought the old man would erupt at a $50 offer. Clearly the old guy hated that fender and just wanted it gone. And Mark got his $60 story to tell. Stu

this is the nos fender the old man hated enough to sell for $60. and thats 63 flareside "aka ryan" picker in training. notice the bag of goodies in his hand. he was on a roll. if you want to get a good deal, let a 12 year old do the negotiating. he was only shot down once.
